Freshwater Turtles and Tortoises and CITES
CITES Parties have focused on tortoise and turtle conservation for more than a decade. Resolution Conf. 11.9 (Rev. CoP13), Conservation of and trade in tortoises and freshwater turtles, adopted at the 11th Conference of the Parties (CoP11) in 2000, and revised CoP12 (2002) and CoP13 (2004). Several decisions regarding tortoises and turtles have also been directed to the Parties and Secretariat. This document reports on the status of the Asian turtle trade and the implementation of Resolution Conf. 11.9 (Rev. CoP13) and the remaining decisions.
